Installation

Get Bom Agent running on your computer in just a few minutes.

What You Need

  • Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit), or macOS 12 and above
  • At least 4 GB of memory (8 GB recommended)
  • An internet connection for the initial setup
  • A Claude Pro/Max or ChatGPT Plus (Codex) subscription — Bom uses whichever CLI you're already logged into, so there's no extra fee
Note

Bom runs on your own computer. Files, browser sessions, and local automation stay on your machine unless you explicitly connect them to cloud services.

Download and Install

  1. Go to bom.bomtobe.com and click "Download Free".
  2. Open the downloaded file. On Windows, approve the security prompt if one appears.
  3. The installer sets everything up automatically. When it finishes, Bom Agent appears in your system tray (the small icon area near the clock).
Tip

On Windows, you can also install from the Microsoft Store — search for "BOM Agent".

First-Time Setup

On first launch, Bom opens the Setup sign-in flow. After you sign in, you can finish the rest of the configuration from the desktop app and Settings.

  1. Sign in with Google or Apple. This account is used for your Bom account and mobile pairing.
  2. Open Settings to choose your AI provider, model, reasoning effort, and default working directory.
  3. Let Bom verify or install the local tools it needs on the first run. This can take a minute or two.
Tip

You can return to Settings any time to change provider, browser sign-in, permissions, auto-start, or system checks.
